Dear Canandaigua Wrestling Fans,

There is a lot to get you up to date on! First of all, THANK YOU to those who helped with our 45th Annual Bradshaw Tournament! We hosted 290 wrestlers and 24 teams, and it was a huge success.

Second, our first annual euchre tournament, which was held at the Elks’s, was tremendous! It was an incredible feeling having several generations of Canandaigua Alumni in one room together, socializing, and supporting the program we all love. We’ll be having more events like this in the future, so stay tuned!

Our wrestlers have been working hard all season, and this has been by far my favorite group to work with. We’re currently sitting at 5-9, after only winning 1 match last year, with 3 matches to go. We’re on the rise! We have one home match left, before we host sectionals! We’ll be hosting Wayne on Wednesday the 29th. The Section V Class A2 championships will also be held at Canandaigua Academy on February 8th. It would be great to see you all in attendance cheering for the cherry and gray!

January Update

Dear Braves Wrestling Family,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 wrestling season. We are beyond excited for the upcoming season. Big shoes need to be filled with Rich Romeo’s retirement. Coach Romeo has dedicated the last 26 years of his life to this family, and brought our program to the national spotlight during that time. We plan to continue our program’s rich tradition through a relentless effort of hard work and commitment. Our number 1 goal is to equip your son or daughter (Yes, women’s wrestling is the fastest growing sport in the country right now.) with the skills that are necessary to succeed in life. If we, as a family, can teach our student-athletes to be disciplined, committed, work hard, and put others first; we will find success both on and off the mat. We would like to invite you to our informational parent meeting on Thursday, November 14th, at 6:00 in the LGI of the Academy. We will be discussing important information regarding the upcoming season, as well as featuring a guest speaker. We look forward to seeing you all there! Our first practice for the JV/Varsity season will be Monday, November 11th from 9:00am - 12:00pm.

Sincerely, Eric Mullen
